Greenways (Vías Verdes)

Annual greenway usage data.

Vías Verdes has been monitoring the use of some of its routes since 2020 by means of usage counters. Usage distinguishes between pedestrians and cyclists. The aim is to gain a better understanding of the use of this infrastructure.

The following graphs show the evolution of the average number of uses registered for each monitored greenway and the distribution of its uses.

The table shows the uses registered during the year 2025 in seven different autonomous communities. Greenways that do not have homogeneous data to compare 2024 and 2025 are not included (Camino Natural Vía Verde del Plazaola (tramo Navarra), Camino Natural Vía Verde del Noroeste, Vía Verde Campo de Cartagena, Vía Verde de Mazarrón, Vía Verde del FC. Guadix-Almendricos (tramo R.Murcia), Vía Verde de la Floración).

Finally, the variation in the recorded uses of greenways is shown with data for the years 2024 and 2025.
