Profitability indicators in the hotel sector

National Statistics Institute

Monthly statistics on the prices hotel owners apply to their customers for the accommodation service of a double room with bathroom, without including taxes or any other service. ADR (Average Daily Rate) and RevPAR (Revenue per Available Room).

INFORMATION:

-In April 2020, hotels remained closed to all tourist activities. Since no income was received from tourist activities, both the average daily rate (ADR) and the income per available room (RevPAR) were zero. It is thus impossible to calculate variation rates for April 2021 in relation to the same month of the previous year for the hotel sector profitability indicators. That is the reason why, if you select that period in the dashboards, no data appears in the graphs that represent the year-on-year variation of ADR or RevPAR. In May 2020, the Hotel Price Index was not published due to the small number of open hotel establishments, for this reason the annual variation rates for May 2021 are not disclosed.

-For provinces and tourist areas and sites, data is only available from January 2021.
