National Statistics Institute

The National Statistics Institute carries out a series of projects that are in some way innovative, whether through their information sources, statistical methods, study scope or way of disseminating the results. The presented contents are considered to be experimental because they have not yet reached sufficient maturity in terms of the reliability, stability or quality of data, as to be included in official statistics.

The following dashboard provides data from the experimental study whose main objective is to know in an aggregated way, through mobile phone signals, via active and passive events captured by telephone antennas, to determine the following:

1.Origin and country/countries visited by Spanish tourists on their trips abroad.

2.The origin of foreign tourists who visit the various autonomous communities, provinces and municipalities.

3.The origin and destination of domestic tourists who visit the various autonomous communities, provinces and municipalities.

INFORMATION:

  • United kingdom as country of origin, in inbound tourism, or country of destination, in outbound tourism, includes Gibraltar.
  • There is data from countries protected by statistical secrecy that is not shown or included in the subtotals. For this reason, there may be small differences with the data published by the INE for totals and subtotals.
