Financial transactions carried out by residents and non-residents in Spain through point-of-sale terminals (POS) located in Spain. For residents, only transactions carried out in a province other than their province of residence are considered.

Definitions

  • Type of trip:

    International: From an international location (outside Spain). Interegional: From within Spain, but from an autonomous region different from that of the destination studied. Regional: Trips between different provinces within the autonomous community of the selected destination. National: From within Spain but not associated with the destination studied (may include both interregional and regional trips)

  • Category:

    There are ten categories of expense classification: TRAVEL AGENCIES: Spending in travel agencies; FOOD: Spending on food (shops, markets and supermarkets); ACCOMMODATION: Spending on hotels, the home, properties, etc.; FUEL AND GARAGES: Spending on fuel, petrol stations and garages; ENTERTAINMENT: Spending on leisure and related activities; HEALTH AND PHARMACIES: Spending on health, beauty and well-being services and products; TEXTILE: Spending on clothing and accessories; TRANSPORT: Spending on transport services (bus, taxi, plane, etc.). ; RESTAURANTS: Spending in hospitality venues; OTHERS: No category specified.
