You can access official INE statistics and other data of interest to the sector such as transport statistics, air capacity, tourist satisfaction, digital coverage and economic indicators.

GENERAL TOURISM DATA

FRONTUR – Statistics of tourist movements at the border
Monthly.
Between the 1st and 4th of each month, publication of the data referring to the penultimate month. For example, the data for November of the previous year will be published in January.

ETR – Resident tourism survey
Quarterly.
Data for the previous quarter is published in the last days of the current quarter. This means that the data for the first quarter of the year is published between 26-30 June.

EGATUR – Tourist spending survey
Monthly.
Between the 1st and 4th of each month, publication of the data referring to the penultimate month.

Turespaña market trend reports
Every six months.
Market trends for the summer season are published in April, and market trends for the winter season are published in October.

Distribution of spending by foreign visitors on their visits to Spain
Experimental quarterly statistic from the INE.
It is published four months after the end of each quarter. You can consult the spending by country in each autonomous region, as well as its distribution per visitor and per day.

Measurement of tourism from mobile phones
Experimental monthly statistic from the INE.
It has information available since July 2019. It shows the origin of foreign and national tourists up to the municipality level and the international destination of national tourists.

In addition, Dateaestur shows the SICTED COVID-19 ready tourism services, updated monthly.

ECONOMIC DATA

Price and consumption index in tourism and hospitality
Monthly.
The data for the previous month is published between the 11th and 15th of each month.

Activity indicators from the hospitality sector and travel agencies, tour operators and booking services and related activities
Monthly.
Between the 18th and 23rd of each month, publication of the data for the penultimate month. For example, the statistics for February are published on 19 April.

Tourist occupancy according to Social Security registration, prepared by Turespaña
Monthly.
Publication, between the 17th and 19th of each month, of the data referring to the previous month.

Statistics on employment and occupation in tourism in Smart Destinations. Information provided by the state employment service.
Quarterly.
The data for the quarter is published on Dataestur around the first days of the second subsequent month. For example, the figures for the third quarter of the year are published between 25 October and 5 November.

Tourism and travel data in the balance of payments, provided by the National Bank of SpainMonthly.
Publication, between the 28th and the last day of the month, of the data referring to the penultimate month. For example, data referring to January is published on 30 March.

TRANSPORT DATA

Air traffic statistics, provided by Aena.
Monthly.
Around day 10, the data for the previous month is published.

Notes on scheduled air capacity from the issuing countries prepared by Turespaña
Monthly.
The data for the following month are published on the last day of the month.

Scheduled air capacity in main airports in Spain, prepared by Mabrian.
Monthly.
Publication, at the beginning of the month, of the data referring to the current month.

EPort traffic statistics, provided by Puertos del Estado.
Monthly.
The figures for the previous month are published in the last week of the month.

Regular interurban land traffic statisticsof passengers by bus and rail on medium- and long-distance lines with data from the INE.
Monthly.
Between the 10th and 13th of each month, the data for the penultimate month is published.

ACCOMMODATION DATA

CTH – Hotel tourism situation: occupancy survey, price index and profitability indicators
Frequency: monthly
The data for the previous month is published between the 22nd and 24th of each month.

EOAT – Occupancy surveys in tourist accommodation and prices: tourist apartments, rural tourism accommodation and campsites
Monthly.
The figures for a month are published in the period between the last days of the following month and the first days of the one that follows. For example, the data for February would be published on 30 March. And the data for March would be published on 3 May.

Occupancy estimate in tourist accommodation based on data from digital platforms
Experimental statistic from the INE that offers annual data at the provincial level between 2018 and 2021. Also, monthly information is presented at the autonomous region level, with data up to the first quarter of 2022. It is in the study phase with a view to integrating its information with data from traditional occupancy surveys in tourist accommodation.

Measurement of the number of tourist properties in Spain and their capacity
Experimental biannual statistic from the INE.
It is published in June and December, relating to the months of February and August respectively.
It provides data from the analysis of information from the top 3 tourist accommodation platforms in Spain. The information presented on a data map, broken down to the municipality level.

Hotel accommodation prices and satisfaction, with data from Mabrian
Analysis of user reviews on major travel websites to determine their satisfaction with hotels. It is complemented with information on average prices according how far in advance the query is made and date of check-in.
Monthly.
Around the 5th of the month, data for the previous month is updated.

INSIGHTS DATA

Reports and statistics that provide insights about the sector in Spain and include:

Outlook reports, Quarterly analysis of data from all Dataestur sources to get a closer look at the reality of tourism in Spain.
Quarterly.
Reports are published at the end of the following quarter. For example, the first quarter report is published in July and the second quarter report in October.

Monthly active listening reports on tourism in the media and social networks in Spanish, Catalan, Galician and Basque.
Monthly.
Reports for the previous month are published between the 5th and 10th of each month.

Tourist satisfaction indices prepared by Mabrian on a monthly basis.
Monthly.
Around the 5th of the month, data for the previous month is updated.

Monthly update of the newsletters from the Tourism Scientific Information System and of the Scientific Journals on Tourism.
